Capgemini Portugal improved its profitability in 2006, thereby enabling the company to climb to the second position in the ranking of best subsidiaries of the French Group. ‘In 2006, we had already reached the Top 5, in terms of operational results,’ says Paulo Morgado, Chief Executive Officer, to Jornal de Negócios. The CEO doesn’t wish to reveal which subsidiary came first, but just says that it was not his.”
The she moves on to say that, “He confesses that the success of the local branch is due to ‘[…] ultra competent people, something I would not say back in 2003.’ People’s dedication and ‘a culture of great professional eagerness to be the best, account for 50% of the journey to success,’ adds the CEO. For him, what most distinguishes the local branch from the rest is ‘the level of sophistication of our support systems, systems that provide support to a decidedly commercial type of management.’”
